Larisa will take care of it for you. Need to read your e-mail? Walk to the 24-hour Internet basement downstairs.. Natasha speaks English, Russian and Romanian and can offer you just the guidance a tourist needs in Kishinev. She can also call a taxi for you or advice you on bus routes from Voevod Strada to downtown, which is only ten minutes away from Riscani. For a reasonable fee, she can also serve as your interpreter and guide. Need to grab some cash? A major bank and cash machine is just around the corner.
Walk to the bazaar an authentic open air marketplace where you can find the local fruit and even pomegranates and persimmons from Turkey delicious. Also, only a few steps away, you ll find a regular supermarket and pharmacy. Feeling a little worn down from traveling? How about an hour-massage for only fifteen Euros with the local masseuse!? Got a nagging toothache? Local dentists are very affordable. Have a little tear in your traveling shoes? The cobbler next door will fix them for half a Euro. Need to handle your affairs at the embassy? Most international embassies are within a block or two from each other downtown.
Need a little distraction? You can walk to the StarTrek Discotheque or take a cab to the world-famous Club Flamingo. If you prefer the classics, head for the Opera downtown.
Kishnev is fairly well connected to Eastern and Western Europe, as well as Ukraine. You can take a six-hour bus ride to Odessa or a train to Kiev and then Moscow. You can also take an overnight train to Bucuresti, Romania and from there Europe is wide open. Moldova Air will fly you to Milan, Italy; or Lisbon, Portugal.
